Virtual Terminal

A Virtual Terminal lets your business manually process credit card numbers received by telephone, fax or mail order. You can use a Virtual Terminal in addition to (or instead of) accepting credit card transactions from their website.

A Virtual Terminal is a web interface allowing the Merchant to enter card and other cardholder details into a browser and submit them through their merchant account for authorisation and processing and works in just the same way as a card payment terminal that you use in a restaurant today. Your sales transactions can be authorised and processed in just a few seconds.

This is how Virtual terminals are used

  • Your customers telephones you to place an order. You enter their details into the Virtual Terminal and your customer waits on the telephone while their sales transaction is processed.
  • We check the card number and cardholders details with bank records, and arrange to authorise and process the transaction. We inform you on the virtual terminal screen that the transaction has been authorised (or not) and you can then advise your customer that the transaction has been authorised (or not) and then arranges to despatch the goods they have bought as appropriate.
  • Our Virtual Terminal is available for use with your Merchant account and transaction fees and settlement terms apply
  • Your transactions processed through your Virtual Terminal are displayed in your Customer Management System together with transactions from your web site if you also operate that option with us.
