VMAS (Visa Merchant Alert Service) is pan-European enquiry service operated by Visa that provides Acquiring Banks with a central database of merchants whose contracts have been terminated by other banks because of fraudulent or questionable activity.

National databases of terminated merchants have been common in several countries for many years, but these were losing effectiveness in an increasingly borderless Europe. VMAS was the first pan-European terminated merchant file.
