Our Management Team

Our management team has over twenty years of experience in electronic transaction processing and Merchant Services industry. We have developed strategic relationships with some of the industry's best banks to process our merchants' transactions.

Perpetual Payments' management consists of professionals with backgrounds in the online payments market and expertise in the critical areas of Risk Management, e Commerce development, scheme rules, business development/sales. This ability to understand the target market's e-payments requirements ensure Perpetual Payments' success and provides the expertise to deliver a ‘Future proof' solution to the market.

Nick Ogden - Chairman and Chief Executive

Nick Ogden has been at the forefront of e-commerce technology since 1985. In 1993, he founded Multi Media Investments Limited, a technology research and development company that brought the Internet to the Channel Islands through Interactive Telephony Ltd. This led to the construction of Europe's first on-line store in October 1994 and the development of one of the first bank-endorsed e-commerce initiatives BarclaySquare, in 1995. Nick founded the multi-currency processor WorldPay and led the company through its growth to over 270 employees with 20,000 merchants in 120 countries and processing transactions in excess of $2bn per annum. He invented the internet payment guarantee in 2001 guaranteeing Internet transactions for consumers and businesses. WorldPay was sold to the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2000. Nick was a finalist in the UK Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2000 and 2002. In 2004 Nick was selected as part of the "Internet Decade", an event organised to recognise the contribution of around 100 individuals for their input and influence on the development and growth of e-commerce and the internet in the UK over the previous ten years and was nominated for the Computer World Global IT Leaders award in 2006.

Shaun Lavelle - Director of Business Development

Shaun Lavelle has been involved in Merchant Acquiring at a senior level for over 15 years, with particular expertise in payment processing, risk management, and Internet applications. Prior to his appointment as VP Global Acceptance, Compliance & Risk, Shaun held positions as Vice-President Risk Operations at Optimal Payments, Chief Executive Officer at FirePay UK (regulated by the UK Financial Services Authority), Director of Credit & Risk at Euroconex (Bank of Ireland Merchant Services - now "Elavon Bank") and Head of Credit & Risk at WorldPay as well as numerous domestic and offshore roles at HSBC Bank.

Shirley Singh - Head of Risk

Shirley has over 30 years experience in the financial services sector, starting her career in retail and commercial banking before moving into e-commerce. During the past eleven years she has developed and implemented procedures for risk assessment, risk management, and regulatory compliance. This is a role which she started at WorldPay as Risk, Acceptance and Compliance Manager and continued to develop and expand internationally while she was at Optimal Payments as their European Head of Risk and Compliance. Since joining Perpetual Payments, her role continues to develop and expand while building customer relationships.

David Wrathmall - Financial Controller

David is a graduate from University College London and a Chartered Management Accountant. He spent his early career at the University of Cambridge working for their UK and international commercial enterprises before moving into the cable TV industry (Comcast Inc.) in 1997. He then held finance various roles within the NTL/Virgin Media group, primarily in their business telecoms sector, before moving into internet payment processing at WorldPay in 2001. After the acquisition of WorldPay by the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2002 he held various roles within the RBS Group. In 2005 he joined Transact Limited, a privately owned multi-media group, where he managed the financial operations of their internet payment processing subsidiary, Netbanx, as well as various telecoms and TV enterprises in the UK and overseas. In 2009 David joined Voice Commerce Group as their Financial Controller.
